I am off an age, where I have a healthy suspsion of all this internet stuff and social media, although I have been using the Internet since before most people knew it existed. This is my first foray into such activities and at present I want to keep my internet footprint to a minimum.
I love to travel and experience new places and cultures. I want to see as much as I can of what places and people are really like. I like to head off the beaten track as well as hit the tourist traps.
I fear with globalisation soon everywhere will be the same. I have visited many places and at times, particularly in cities, you could be anywhere in the world. I regularly visit China with work and I ventured in to shopping malls to find all the global chains there.
I want my children to be open to new experiences, cultures and have a good sense of adventure.
This is the main driving force behind this blog. These are my reports and thoughts on the trips we take. These will (hopefully) be there for the kids to read when they are older. I hope that it will spark fond memories of their childhood.
